It's Almost as if this were the Windy City

I just went out for a smoke (save your preaching) and almost got blown away. And I am no delicate feather, neither.

Relatedly, I think I flashed a section of pale white chub to anyone looking out of the windows by the dock. Damn loose fitting shirt.

Where's the warmth?

Dear God,

It's May.  It's really almost June.  Could you maybe heat the earth a little bit, say about 20 degrees above the current 45 degree temperature?

Thanks much,

Jen14221

(I know I live in Buffalo, but this is insane. My hydrangeas are freezing to death).

Too many weeks!

There are too many weeks in May.  I keep thinking that next week I go to TN but, no, it is the following week.

Global Warming

I know that it is important.  I understand and accept that it is happening.  But if I have to hear about it in one more of my escapist outlets, I'm going to buy the most fuel inefficient car I can find and regularly fill it with plastic bags, the rings from six packs and full disposable diapers and fling it all into the ocean.

Here We Go Again

Peeve worth repeating:

The annual FREE air show here in Pittsburgh is Mother's Day weekend.  I never miss an air show.  I love me an air show. We  have a wedding to attend on Saturday and obviously Mother's Day is Sunday.

So do I celebrate my own Mother's Day by going to one of my favorite activities or do I suck it up and spend it with the woman from whose loins I sprang forth?

I hate my summer calendar.

Overdressed as Usual

Why is it that on days when I wear a cute short sleeved shirt it is 12 degrees out and pouring down rain and the next day when I wear a heavy black sweater it is sunny and at least 65 degrees?

I Have Feet Fetish

Flip-flop season has started up in Pennsylvania.  Attention university students:  go ahead and wear your flip-flops when it's 55 degrees.  I don't want to hear your bitchin' and moanin' about having cold toes.

Weather: Part Deux

What part of "out like a motherfucking lamb" don't you get? March, I'm looking at you.

Partly Something with a Chance of Whatever

"Chance of rain today, tomorrow's high near 50" does not answer the question "what do I wear today?"

Signs of Spring

You know how in the summer it seems that everything happens at the same time?  Like there's two weekends in a row with nothing to do and the following weekend there are three weddings, a barbecue and a concert all on the same day?  Don't you hate that?

Today is the first day I am able to drive since my surgery three weeks ago.  It is a glorious 53 degrees which means my youngest son is making up a double-header baseball game at a field not too far from home.  He's had numerous games postponed because of this shitty Pittsburgh weather and I've been looking forward to watching him play since he sat out the first two years of college ball .

So it just figures that I also have scheduled a long over-due appointment to get my psycho cat an allergy shot today at the MOST inconvenient time.  If she wasn't scabbed up from scratching, I would totally cancel it.  Instead, I'm going to be driving to first game, leaving early, driving back to fetch the cat to go to the vet, then driving back to catch the end of the second game.

Cost of gas driving around for an hour and a half:  an arm and a leg.
Getting to see my son play baseball again and having a rash-free cat:  Priceless.

Apologies for the lengthy peeve.
