You know how in the summer it seems that everything happens at the same time? Like there's two weekends in a row with nothing to do and the following weekend there are three weddings, a barbecue and a concert all on the same day? Don't you hate that?
Today is the first day I am able to drive since my surgery three weeks ago. It is a glorious 53 degrees which means my youngest son is making up a double-header baseball game at a field not too far from home. He's had numerous games postponed because of this shitty Pittsburgh weather and I've been looking forward to watching him play since he sat out the first two years of college ball .
So it just figures that I also have scheduled a long over-due appointment to get my psycho cat an allergy shot today at the MOST inconvenient time. If she wasn't scabbed up from scratching, I would totally cancel it. Instead, I'm going to be driving to first game, leaving early, driving back to fetch the cat to go to the vet, then driving back to catch the end of the second game.
Cost of gas driving around for an hour and a half: an arm and a leg.
Getting to see my son play baseball again and having a rash-free cat: Priceless.
Apologies for the lengthy peeve.
