I hate seeing an ugly baby. I am not that nice a person so it's very difficult for me to pretend that an ugly baby is cute.

I think you're supposed to say, "Now THAT'S a baby!" It also works for when you can't tell if it's a boy or girl...

I'm the same way. I was just looking at pictures of a baby on FB, thinking, "Ugh, well, at least it's a newborn, maybe it will get cuter."
