I take a series of buses to and from my workplace. The one that used to run from the main terminal to the office has been rerouted and "no longer serves the _____ Street area." I am now at the mercy of the slow, crowded, and not-nearly-as-convenient local light rail system. Of course, I could simply walk the additional mile and a half to the office, but to do so and get to work on time would require leaving the house half an hour earlier. Also, I am a whiny, lazy slug.

I am of the opinion a mile and a half is an excessive walk. And I walk to work and am a frequent bus rider. :)

I used to take 2 buses to my old job. The second bus stopped at a mall across a very congested road (everything in this town is on this 1 mile stretch of road)from another little shopping center which is where I worked. Once I got off the bus I had to walk across the ginormous parking lot of University Park Mall (the parking lot has been nicknamed U.P. Motor Speedway by locals because of the speed at which people drive through it) then I had to frogger my way across the road. On top of that, in the winter the mall maintenance people would only plow about a third of the parking lot closest to the building. I had to wear dresses and such to this job (at David's Bridal), and I'd have to put on about 5 layers of clothing over my outfit just to survive the half mile trek through knee deep snow and not end up hypothermic. Ridiculous.
