I am a new manager of some peeps at work. Their year-end reviews are taking place between Dec 1 and Dec 14. The old manager is responsible for conducting said reviews, but I really feel I should be there to aid the transition, hear the conversation, and ensure the employee knows the old manager & I are working together.
The problem is that I had planned to take vacation (aka, go see my boyfriend after an twice-as-long-as-normal absence) during that time frame. I don't have high hopes that all my peeps meetings can be scheduled when I am in the office.
Switching vacation time b/c of work sucks the big one.
