Not Included

Why is it the more you spend on something the less that is included with it?  Fancy restaurants usually don't have free refills on coke yet Denny's and IHOP do.  I was just looking at the website for the hotel Peeved Michelle and I are staying at for Blogher.  I would consider it expensive.  Under "Activities" they talk about their fitness center - the fitness center that is an additional $12/day or $20/hotel stay. They do have all sorts of things to make that fitness center fancier, but if I were just wanting to go use an elliptical trainer for 45 min it would annoy me.  They also do not have shuttle service to the airport.  I suppose that's the price you pay for fancy.
