I just got back from camping (5th Annual Girls Camping now with Boys - six of us went this year) and I am appalled at my cute, funny, smart, friend's boyfriend. He is awful. Three examples of his awfulness:
He is unkind to animals. There was a wookdpecker just doing its thing and pecking a tree. He threw a rock at it. I said "Please do not throw a rock at the bird." He threw another. Both times he missed, but he still did it. Another friend's dog was with us. Spot isn't allowed people food as she gets sick easily when given it. Boyfriend knew this and kept slipping her people food anyway. We all went crabbing and gathered mussels. I don't eat either one so I didn't really participate in either activity. The mussels didn't get eaten last night and were in a 5 gallon bucket the back of the truck when we were loading this morning. He took the bucket and dumped it in the fire pit, I believe intending to leave it for someone else. I asked him what he planned on doing with them and he claimed he was going to eat them. I called him on the obvious lie and just dropped it. His girlfriend must have gotten on him about it because a short time later he was cleaning them back out of the fire pit and throwing them away. All weekend long he was going on and on about what 'experienced campers' do and don't do... I'm fairly certain, as an experienced camper, that experienced campers don't leave crap for others to clean up for them.
