Do These People Have Parents?
So...there is this open-ended warning for motorists in the WNY area about a crazy gang initiation happening. The wannabe members have to ram into the back of a motorist's car and then get out and assault or rob them. I'm so glad that I work every night until Sunday and drive 30 minutes to work. I need to buy some mace!

Thanks, Ju. Now I'm really thrilled I'm visiting my parents in WNY this weekend.
Is it a city thing or has it spread to the suburbs?

I guess they don't know where or when...THEY ARE EVERYWHERE and I am PARANOID!

sorry, got a little carried away...

I'm paranoid, too. It's very weird. There was a lot of talk (radio, tv, etc.) today about this possibly being an urban legend but there have been counterarguments that it's legitimate.
The gang is apparently in 33 states already.
JuJuBee: Did you see the latest article?

So you just have to drive off with after you are rear-ended? What if they are not gang members? Then you're in a whole other world of shit!

Ju, I'm recalling many of our conversations that inevitably end up with my saying, "You'll just have to move back here."
I bought you a Hummer, it will be delivered in the morning. Well, sort of a Hummer. Actually it's a Sherman. (tank)
Mace is cool but I prefer you get a 9mm.

This reminds me of that urban legend from a few years back where supposedly if you flashed your lights at a car because its lights were off, it would be a gang member who would pull a gun and shoot you.

I'd just do what the article says and drive away while calling 911. Unless the other driver is clearly a little old lady or something. I'm glad my family lives in the 'burbs.
Hazel, it sounds to me like as long as you call the police, you receive a get out of jail free card for leaving the scene of an accident.

I was thinking that this is a good excuse to speed. I hate driving slow, and if I got pulled over, I could just say that I thought someone was going to ram into me! Voila!
