The Peevery was previously being hosted by Web Divas, which was operated by Rachel C. Doyle and Cherry Otier. Almost three weeks ago, Rachel C. Doyle moved to a new, dedicated server. That is when Web Divas fucked up everybody's Movable Type sites. Rachel C. Doyle blamed MT for being sucky software and us for being on old versions of it, but Cherry Otier was the one who recommended it to me and who migrated the Peevery off of Blogger and onto Movable Type.
Anyway, there was then some song and dance from Rachel C. Doyle about upgrading people to a new version of Movable Type along with a request to please be patient. Emails continued to go unanswered during this time. No requests for status updates were met. I believe that Rachel C. Doyle knew a week ago that Web Divas were going to simply shut their doors and screw everybody because it was at that time that I requested my domain name to be transferred to my name from Web Diva's and she complied without so much as a single word to me. Thank God, I have control of thepeevery.com now because those bitches went out of business with not a word to their customers except for a note on their home page.
Lessons I Have Learned
1. Screw the little guy - only buy goods and services from large corporations. (My other sites are hosted by Yahoo! The Peevery is now hosted by TypePad.)
2. Register your domain name first and then buy your hosting. Don't buy a hosting + free domain name package.
3. Rachel C. Doyle has some bad karma coming her way.
4. Don't pay for a whole year at one time. Go month-to-month even if it costs a few dollars more. Fortunately, our contract was nearly over anyway, so I didn't lose much money in the deal because I doubt they are issuing refunds.
